I freely admit that I am a Bocce Ball addict. I also love wine. When the two come together, it's a marriage of perfection.
This morning, my good friend Jared (a regular Budget Vino contributor) sent along a link to all the known wineries in Northern California that also have Bocce Ball courts. I acknowledge that this list is of no value to those living outside of Northern California, so I apologize in advance. I also assume that these wineries do not sell wines under $10. However, a list like this is just too good to pass up. I just have to post it. I hope you understand.

If you are in Northern CA, you can also play Bocce ball (and drink wine) at Campo di Bocce. They have locations in Los Gatos and Livermore.

To have a similar pleasure without leaving the city, try the petanque, very similar to bocce ball, in Golden Gate Park and you'll probably have an opportunity to enjoy some wine too. Last time I went one player brought some of his homemade production: very interesting. Pastis is sometimes a fresher alternative to wine. For more info, visit:

If you like Bocce and you like Budget Vino (and clearly you do) you may want to track down Bocce wine. It's a Mondavi budget wine (under 6 bucks most places here in Indiana, can only be cheaper out West)--some people love it, others not so much. Not a core part of my decidedly budget-minded cellar, but I do tend to agree with those who say it is infinitely more interesting to drink than Mondavi's Woodbridge line at a cheaper price. Chet,
That is truly awesome. I will definitely grab a bottle of that wine.
