Today, I announced the introduction of the "Budget Wino Top Choices" recommendation quick list. I have pondered this concept for a few weeks, and now just seemed to be the right time for the introduction. Arriving at a top choices list forced me to revisit wines I have happily (or unhappily) consu
med. As I sifted through the list of wines past, I realized that I was yet to review an old reliable- Pepperwood Grove 2004 Merlot.
This wine is smooth and very tasty. It has a little bit of a kick to it, but it works to the wines advantage. Most importantly, this one stands really nicely on its own. You don't need to combine it with any food to enjoy a glass (or more). So, if you're at home relaxing, or hanging out with a bunch of friends/family, it's a great option to consider.
Final Recommendation: Definitely buy it.

Thanks for the tip. I don't normally drink merlots, so this was my first in a while. It was better than what I remember. And, it was only 5 bucks at the local Pavilion's/Von's! It was a bit thin, but really drinkable and has a nice and different taste compared to the cabs I usually consume. Oh, and PS: Thanks for trying the Big House Red!

I am so glad you reviewed this. I have been looking at it the last few times I bought wine but was scared to because it was so inexpensive (not that I'm a wine snob, I just usually stick closer to $10 than $4). Anyway, thanks for the tip. I'll definitely try it now.
