While Pinot's are one of my favorite wines, they also seem to be one of the most difficult wines when it comes to finding quality. I think I've found more excitement and disappointment with Pinot's than any other wine varietal. For this reason, I am always skeptical whenever I buy a Pinot. I hope for the best, but acknowledge that I might quickly be in for a bad time.
This did not happen when I bought Black Mountain's Pinot Noir. It retails for $4.99 at Trader Joe's California locations, and it is definitely worth a try. Pick up a bottle this weekend at Trader Joe's (or elsewhere if you don't have a Trader Joe's in your neighborhood) and let me know what you think. I'm curious to see if you agree with me on this one.
Happy drinking.

Interesting..I'll try this one. I'm not totally agree with the fact that the Pinot Noir quality varies more than other varieties but I may be wrong as I base this comment essentially on Burgundies. There is a basic Burgundy at TJ which is also very easy to drink and has an acceptable quality for $5.99. I recommand this one and I will share more of this recent tasting experience on my wine blog but it has already been noticed here: http://nomerlot.com/reviews/red-wine/2005/07/12/p98

I was pleasantly surprised when i tried this whine. I usually have to shell out at least $15 to $20 to get a decent pinot noir, but I like this a lot and for less than 6 bucks! I sort of regard this whine as the 2 buck chuck of pinot noir now and would recommend it to all whine love pinots!
